Fun Ways to Get Up for Fall

Let’s face it, there’s nothing like Autumn in New England. Crisp evening air, trees bursting with color, warm cider donuts — there’s a lot to look forward to. Here are a few more ways to get into the season!

   1. Go (Supper) Clubbing

So, you’ve been running around all Summer doing your thing. Now that the cooler weather is starting to kick in, it’s time to try some of the great new spots around town. This comprehensive list has the best of the best, but we recommend live music and some comfort food at one of our favorite spots @huntersboston in South Boston.

   2. Get Wild

One of the coolest new spots in the city, Urban Wild is a mix of multi-color psychedelia, bowling, and live music. Yeah, we were as intrigued as you are. An artsy-vibe and menu that goes way beyond the standard fare, make Urban Wild a venue that’s worth booking for a night — and you will definitely need to, if you want to get in.

   3. Take in a Show

The Boston Cup is now in its 12th year and is widely considered one of the top five classic car shows in the country (and the only one of its kind in the Northeast). This year’s event on the Common will feature classic vehicles from England, Germany, Italy, and the United States. Tickets are still available for the event on Sunday, September 24th.

   4. Dish it Out

Go on a culinary journey with pasta chef Avery Perry. Explore regional differences in pasta shapes, learn how to make the perfect pasta dough, and tour an artisanal pastificio (pasta factory). Make beautiful pasta and taste your creation too! Also enjoy a complementary — and complimentery — glass of wine at the adjacent Pine Bar Inn.

   5. Roll with It

While the indoor space at Gufo (owl in Italian) is gorgeous, the outdoor space — complete with a bocce court — is the place to be this fall. Enjoy a freshly-baked focaccia sandwich on their covered patio or settle in for a full meal of rigatoni with pork bolognese or fried dough with prosciutto. You can’t go wrong, unless of course your ball hits the back wall.

   6. Get Festive

Raise a glass to Night Shift’s Oktoberfest September 22-24 — spread between their Esplanade and Allston beer gardens, Lovejoy Wharf brewery, and Everett location (which will host a lederhosen-optional stein holding competition). Five biers have been specially crafted for the event, including the spectacularly-named Prost Malone and Chill Zwickelson.
