Top Brunch Spots in the City

    PUBLISHED 4/5/2024

When done right, a good brunch can make the whole weekend. Early enough for the breakfast goodness we love, yet late enough to pair it with a boozy beverage — how perfect is that? Here are a few of our favorite spots to make it all happen.

    Cafe Sauvage, Back Bay
Serving brunch on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, this Parisian-inspired café in the Back Bay definitely requires a reservation. With their fancy Eggs Benedict, served with duck hash and a rich hollandaise sauce cut by herby caraway, and elevated breakfast sandwich with soft-scrambled eggs, gruyere, and chives on a croissant, expect this to be your new go-to spot.

    Via Cannuccia, Dorchester
This cozy little newcomer in Dorchester does a great dinner, but those in the know return during the day on Saturday and Sunday for a stellar brunch and eye-catching array of Italian pastries. Be sure to try the crostata romana carbonara — a quiche with egg yolks, cream, cheese, and pancetta poured into a pastry shell made from decadent French brisée dough.

Hunter’s Kitchen & Bar, South Boston
Craving a southern-style brunch? Pull up a seat at Hunter’s in the heart of South Boston. Executive Chef and Beat Bobby Flay-champion Lambert Givens serves up crave-worthy bites like Chicken and Waffles, Fried Chicken Benedict, and French toast with Texas blueberry bread.

    Bar Vlaha, Brookline
Order up a Greek feast for brunch. This Brookline newcomer focuses on the food of the Vlachs, the nomadic shepherds of Greece. With make-your-own gyros, charcoal-grilled lamb chops, and eggs that have been poached, baked, scrambled, and fried, it’s impossible to pick just one dish. Also check out their wide array of brunch cocktails.

    Myers + Chang, South End
This South End favorite offers a dim-sum brunch that is anything but typical. Embark on a journey from crispy, to savory, to sweet with an eclectic menu that includes Fried Egg Banh Mi with soy-glazed bacon, Tea Smoked Spare Ribs, and Coca Cola Pork Belly. Also, peruse their impressive sake list and house made sodas — Pineapple Ginger is our favorite.

    The Lexington, Cambridge
New to the brunch game is this Cambridge eatery from renowned chef and owner Will Gilson. A broad menu of small plates, main dishes, and cocktails ranging from smoked salmon on a potato waffle and lamb hash to sourdough French toast is served in a beautiful space featuring an open greenhouse layout and one of the only roof decks in the area.
